Brief history SO SIT DOWN AND LEMME TELL YOU A THING.

Once upon a time there was a lovestruck woman who served as a houseworker to a great mage. That lovesick woman eventually got what she wanted after pining so long, and received the attention of the mage she was so enamored with. The product of that attention came nine months later in the form of a tiny little girl.

Oh, and the houseworker? She got dumped. Stranded. Pregnant with child, she went to the closest village she could and settled down there, but she never truly outgrew her feelings for her one-night-stand. She had the child and loved her as much as a mother could, but also tried to impose upon that daughter the desire to learn magic and become as magically gifted as her father. As the girl, named Sera, grew older, she tried to pretend that she wasn't interested in magic.

Actually, she was. She tried to learn in secret, without her mother knowing, because she was a tsundere little shit.

Okay, really, it was more that she was angry at the father her mother was so enamored with, and didn't want to follow in his footsteps like her mother wanted her to. But also because she's a tsundere little shit.

As it turned out, however, she actually was very gifted with magic, and had a natural talent for it, much to both her excitement and irritation. She continued to learn in secret, at first, taking things slowly. Once she had gotten the hang of most of the elemental spells in the book, she moved on to summoning.

That, unfortunately, was her own undoing. At thirteen years of age, Sera was a cocky little fireball (pun absolutely intended), and she thought that she was already naturally good enough to handle skipping the summoning basics and going on to doing her first summon. She briefly skimmed the beginner lessons, and then moved onto an intermediate one.

Surprisingly, the spell worked. Unfortunately, she couldn't control the demon she had summoned forth.

The demon took over her body, using her as her new vessel, and began to cause havoc and mayhem throughout the village. The priests of the village managed to subdue the demon, but could not exorcise it. The demon was far too powerful for them to deal with. They sealed it within Sera, which would buy them the time to learn how to properly exorcise it. Once she had come back to her senses, Sera felt an immense amount of guilt over her own stupidity. She was advised to stay within the village, and was assured that the priests would find some way to rid her of the demon for good, but Sera's guilt over hurting people and doing damage was far too great. She knew she couldn't stay there. There was no guarantee that the demon would stay put for as long as it took for them to figure things out.

In the dead of night, Sera left her village at the age of thirteen. There was only one person who could help her now.

Brief personality
Sera is a very guarded person. On the outside she seems very cheerful and personable and interacts perfectly fine when meeting new people, but it's actually very difficult to get her to open up to anybody. She tries to keep everyone she meets at arm's length, and she doesn't really consider anybody a "friend" all that easily. She feels it's better not to get close to anybody. At any moment, the demon could take her over again, and she doesn't want anyone she cares about to be caught in the crossfire of that moment.

If one were to actually break down her wall enough, they'd find that she's got a bit of a temper. She gets jealous easily. She tries to show outwardly that she doesn't care enough about things to feel anything about it, and she fails at getting that point across a lot. She doesn't have a very good opinion of herself, and is very insecure. However, because she feels that she's closer to losing control of herself and coming closer to death's door with every passing day, she is also not too afraid to do things that would normally terrify any normal person.

As it has been four years since escaping her village, it's becoming more and more obvious that the demon within her is getting closer to finding a way out, and as such, she will become more prone to attempts by the demon to take over its vessel. (Which can be used for some fun stuff in-game, just saiyan)
